Armed forces community

If you're in the armed forces we'd like to know more about your lifestyle, so we can understand the challenges you face and find out how we can provide more support.

We want to make sure members of the armed forces receive the support and recognition they deserve.

To do this, we have joined up with Gravesham Borough Council, Shepway District Council and the RBLI for a project which aims to increase:

  • understanding and awareness of the challenges faced by armed forces
  • contact with service providers
  • confidence of armed forces members
  • activities which help to integrate the armed forces into local life.

The Armed Forces Covenant

Medway Council is a member of the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge by the nation that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.

We joined the covenant to ensure members of the armed forces in Medway receive the support they need and have the same access to government services and products as any other citizen.

You can find out more about the Armed Forces Covenant including who's involved, what's being done and how to get involved.

If you'd like to know more about Medway’s commitment to our armed forces community please email armedforces@medway.gov.uk
