Early Help training

The Early Help Transformation Team, part of Medway Council, are currently offering three Early Help training courses which will be of interest to those working with children and families in Medway.

Early Help Awareness training

Target Audience:

Those working with families and children who need an awareness of Early Help but will not be completing Early Help Assessments. For example, school secretaries or children’s centre receptionists.

A two-hour session covering:

  • Introduction to Early Help
  • Ethos of Early Help
  • Early Help Process in Medway
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support Mechanisms.

AM/PM sessions are available. This course runs from Gun Wharf. There is no parking available at this venue.

Early Help for Managers training

Target Audience:

Managers who have staff who work directly with children and families.

A two-hour session covering:

  • Introduction to Early Help
  • Ethos of Early Help
  • Early Help Process in Medway
  • Effective Assessment / Planning / Review overview
  • Roles and Responsibilities – including Supervision & Case Management
  • Support Mechanisms.

AM/PM sessions are available. This course runs from Gun Wharf. There is no parking available at this venue.

Early Help Assessment Practitioner training

Target Audience:

All practitioners who work directly with children and families.

A full day session covering:

  • Introduction to Early Help
  • Ethos of Early Help
  • Early Help Process in Medway
  • Effective Assessment / Planning / Review
  • Promoting Engagement
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Secure Data Transmission
  • Support Mechanisms.

Sessions run between 9:15am to 4pm.

We recommend that you book your place now as there are only limited spaces available.

To ensure that booking is as simple as possible you can either phone or email to request a place.

All applications require a valid email address as delegates will be sent electronic pre-reading.

Delegates are booked on the course on a multi agency basis (maximum 3 delegates from one agency) as the principle of integrated working is a crucial component of the course.

There is no charge to attend the training, although a non-attendance fee of £80 may be levied if delegates fail to provide 5 working days notice of non-attendance.

Please note: refreshments are not provided but can be purchased from the venue or nearby outlets.
