Looked after by Medway

Sometimes children and young people are unable to live with their parent/s. Medway works hard to support families to successfully care for their children at home and can provide a range of support options to do this.

Where this is not possible we try to find family members or friends who can provide safe, nurturing and positive care for children throughout their childhood and into adulthood.

If this isn't possible, we will find the best possible placement for a young person which might be with adopters, foster carers or residential care.

We actively listen to the voices of young people and their experiences of being looked after by Medway. Our Challengers group and the Children in Care Council are an enthusiastic and powerful voice representing looked after young people in Medway.

Becoming a Medway foster carer may be the most rewarding thing you ever do. If you are interested, apply to be a foster carer.

If you are ready to bring another into your family, perhaps you'll be interested in adopting a child or young person.
