Hook Meadow Community Centre

Centre facilities include:

  • A main hall with a capacity for 120 people theatre style only or 100 seated at tables
  • a large room with capacity for 40 seated at tables
  • a small room with capacity for 10 seated at tables
  • a community learning suite with 7 laptops
  • a large stage with curtains, lights and electric sockets
  • a separate bar area Hook meadow hall
  • two kitchens with a commercial cooker, fridges, a serving hatch and an urn
  • toilets, showers, changing room and disabled toilets
  • front and rear car parks (12 spaces at the rear of the building, two at the front, two disabled spaces)
  • tables and chairs
  • a state-of-the-art CCTV system
  • full facilities for disabled people.

Main Hall: 47' x 34.6', height 16', 179sqm Hook meadow room

Laying out the equipment

People hiring the hall should let the Halls Attendant know, approximately a week before the function, how they want the room laid out and the tables and chairs will be set out out ready for them.

The hirer must take responsibility for any decorations they wish to put up in the hall.

Getting into and out of the building

The building will be staffed through out the time specified on the booking sheet. Staff will arrive approximately 15minutes before the function if the booking is less than 3 hours & 30 minutes before the function if the booking is 3 hours or more. The latest finishing time for a booking is midnight, which means, Music MUST stop 30 minutes before the end of the hiring period or no later than 11.30pm. Any bar/kitchen areas included in the hire must close at least 30 minutes before the end of the hire period and the hirer must stack unused containers out of the way during the hire.

The hirer has 30 minutes at the end of their booking time to clear away their belongings. 

Cleaning up afterwards

Hirers must remove all their equipment, food and personal belongings from the building and leave the building clean and tidy in the time allowed.

How to book

The centre can be hired on:

  • Monday to Saturday, between 8am and midnight
  • Sunday between 8am and 10.30pm

Bookings can be made by phoning 01634 862057 or by emailing brendan.mcanally@medway.gov.uk. Full payment must be made at least 7 days before your booking. There are four spaces available for booking:

Main Hall – prices start from £19.90 per hour before 6pm & £39.20 per hour after 6pm

Large room – prices start from £13.20 per hour before 6pm & £24.00 per hour after 6pm

Small room – prices start from £6.70 per hour before 6pm & £12.50 per hour after 6pm

Community learning suite – prices start from £11.20
