Reserving a book

To reserve a library book, you may:

When you reserve a book online, you search for the item you would like to reserve, tick the box to the left of the item, then click "Reserve Selections" at the bottom of the page.

You will then need your library card number, which is shown on your library card, and your pin number.

This will then bring up a window with your reservations. If you would like to change the pickup location, click on "change pickup location", use the dropdown menu to select another library and then submit.

You can always check your reservations by going to "My account".

Your online PIN

To use your online library account you will need both your library card number and your PIN (personal identification number). Your PIN is normally given to you when you first pick up your library card.

Forgotten your PIN?

  • Online: you can request a PIN reminder be sent to your email address
  • At the library: if you don’t have an email address, please take your library card and one piece of address ID such as a driving licence, recent utility bill or bank statement, to your local library where they will issue you a new PIN.

Please note

  • Items that are more than 29 days overdue cannot be renewed online and must be brought into a library.
  • Items (including books) that have pending requests cannot be renewed.
  • Items that require a loan charge must be brought back to a Medway library and re-hired.
  • Fines cannot be paid online.
