Return to learning - free creative writing courses
Two free creative writing courses offered by the university
of Kent are starting in April 2017. They will run for six
weeks at Chatham Library, Community Hub Chatham and
Community hub Rochester. To find out more or to book

Creative writing groups
Following on from the creative writing beginners course,
two new informal writing groups have started at Chatham Library,
Community Hub Chatham and Rochester library, Community hub

When somebody comes to a library with a book,
story or poetry that they have published themselves, it
is sometimes difficult to add it to the library shelves.
However, these books can be made available online, in pdf
format. You can read the existing books, stories and poems
and find out how to submit your own work.

Networks, networking and social events
These networks organise a calendar of cultural
and informal social events running in parallel with
Medway's major festivals. This is to encourage local
artists, at any stage of their development, to meet and socialise
with other artists.
Whether you are interested in music, theatre, art or literature
there will be something for you.
History of creativity and creative people in Medway
Medway has a rich and varied history of artists,
from the uniquely talented but tragic Richard Dadd through to the
work of Billy Childish and the Medway Poets, and the founding of
the international Stuckist art moment. Medway Libraries hold a
selection of books and information about local artists.
Medway Archives and Local Studies
Centre hold a larger collection and a collection of
work by and about contemporary local artists and writers.
Art and art galleries
It is possible to display art work as a group or
individually in some Medway Libraries. For more information contact
