The noise of time by Julian Barnes

Review by Lordswood Readers' Group

This is not a novel or book for the faint hearted. Almost autobiographical – Shostakovich’s life – it seems to be a rambling account of his life, the way lives were lived in Russia and the pitfalls. None of the group enjoyed it.
