Medway Reads

There is something for everyone at Medway libraries this summer. Take time to relax and unwind with some fantastic books (or eBooks and audio books). Along with great new titles, we have old favourites and classics. In addition to pure escapism, you could also be in with a chance of winning one of a host of prizes. We have three different challenges depending on your age so everyone can get involved.

The challenge runs from Saturday, 15 July to Saturday, 16 September and all you need to do to take part is register at any Medway library and read six books over the summer. Each time you finish a book make sure you get your card stamped! Completed cards will be entered into a free prize draw (full details are available at all Medway Libraries).

Summer Reading Challenge for children aged 4 to 12 years

For children aged 4 to 12 years we have the Reading Agency's Animal Agents. There's a wide range of books to choose from including new titles. There are a variety of clever creatures, highly trained to use their skills and animal instincts to solve the mysteries. Become a detective and hunt out the characters in every library and collect prizes along the way.

Teen Reading Challenge for readers aged 13 to 16 years

For readers between 13 and 16 years why not Read Yourself Far Away? Discover new places, solve a crime, save the day, there's a whole world of adventure waiting for you to join. Complete the challenge and you could win a year's gym membership or a Kindle Fire tablet, or a number of other top prizes. Full details and terms and conditions are available at Medway Libraries.

Rewarding Reading is for people aged 17 and over

And the fun isn't just for young people. For the first time this year we have an adult reading challenge Rewarding Reading. Read any six books of your choice and be in with a chance to win a video or digital camera, family attraction and theatre tickets, and much more.

To join the challenge sign up at any Medway library.
