The John Johnson Collection
The thousands of items
selected from the John Johnson
Collection of printed ephemera, offer unique insights into the
changing nature of everyday life in Britain in the 18th, 19th and
early 20th centuries. Categories include 19th-century
entertainment, the booktrade, popular prints, crimes, murders and
executions, and advertising.
JSTOR "Early Journal Content"
JSTOR has made nearly 500,000 articles from more than 200
journals freely available to the public. This "Early Journal
Content" includes journal content on JSTOR published prior to 1923
in the United States and prior to 1870 outside the United States.
This is a next step in our ongoing efforts to make access more
widely available to people around the world, and specifically to
those not affiliated with participating institutions.

East Gazette 1852-1912 digital archive is made possible
by a grant from the Your Heritage Lottery Fund and a dedicated
group of volunteers who have worked on this project. From

newspaper online, from 1795 to 1985. This resource
has more than 7.5 million articles.
Newsstand, a full-text content from more
than 130 newspapers and magazines, goes back at
least 10 years. This database helps users quickly find the news
information they need. Each issue of each newspaper is indexed
thoroughly, so researchers have access to not only top news stories
but also to the information contained on the various
