Medway Design and Regeneration Awards - 16 June 2017

The first-ever Medway Design and Regeneration Awards will be held on Friday, 16 June to celebrate the past 10 years of new development and regeneration in Medway.

Dozens of companies entered their developments into the awards, and nominated buildings have now been shortlisted. An independent panel of judges will select an overall winner for each of the nine categories.

There are nine core categories:

  • Residential minor – 1 to 10 units
  • Residential major – 11 to 50
  • Residential super major – over 50 units
  • Public buildings – community
  • Public buildings – education
  • Civils and infrastructure
  • Commercial industrial and retail
  • Restoration conservation or conversion
  • Regeneration impact award

People's Choice Award - vote now

Residents have the opportunity to celebrate a decade of design by voting for their winning development in the ‘regeneration impact’ category.

This category showcases developments that have had a positive impact on regeneration in Medway over the past 10 years.

The six shortlisted finalists to choose from are:

  • Carpeaux Close and Eldon Street, Cross Street in Chatham
  • Great Lines Heritage Park
  • Chatham Maritime –Universities at Medway
  • Chatham Maritime – commercial and retail quarter, including the marina
  • Victory Pier in Gillingham
  • The Historic Dockyard Chatham

The development with the most nominations will win the People’s Choice award.

The closing date to vote is on Sunday, 11 June. Vote now.

Awards ceremony

The winners of the People’s Choice award and the nine categories will be announced at the ceremony on 16 June.

The shortlisted finalists will be joined by TV presenter and architecture critic Tom Dyckhoff, who will be the guest speaker on the night.

The awards ceremony is being held in the prestigious No. 1 Smithery in the Historic Dockyard, Chatham and will form part of the Battle of Medway celebrations taking place between 8 and 17 June.
