Submitting a request for a local authority search

An application for a local authority search may be submitted in the normal way by post or document exchange using the official forms. These forms can be obtained from  Oyez Forms. Alternatively you may wish to download an Easy Search Form (pdf 37KB) for submission. To use this file you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this on your computer please go to our advice page.

The forms must be submitted in duplicate along with two location plans highlighting the property/land to be searched and the appropriate fee. It is also possible to use the fully electronic system for submission via the National Land Information Service (NLIS). Please note both the licensed channel provider and the hub will charge additional fees.

You are now able to send and receive your searches via email.

Simply submit the easy search form by email to landcharges@medway.gov.uk 

 Search results will be returned via email as PDF documents.

Updated search facility

This service is free for a period of three months from the date of certificate.

When an updated request is submitted, the original Medway Council Official Search number must be quoted and the date of the official certificate. The council will then carry out a fresh search for you and provide you with all relevant charges and replies to both the LLC1 and Con29.
