Managing flood risk

The Flood Risk Regulations 2009 established Medway Council as a Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), responsible for the management of local flood risk. Local flood risk is defined as flooding from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses.


The Flood and Water Management Act 2010 assigns and extends our roles and responsibilities associated with local flood risk.
