Silverbank Park has two pupil referral units on one site, catering for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils:

  • Silverbank Centre and its annexe
  • Assessment and Tuition Service.

All pupils have experienced behavioural, emotional or social difficulties and some also have significant learning difficulties. Many have been permanently excluded from schools, while others have been identified by their mainstream school as being at risk of permanent exclusion.

The Will Adams Centre is a pupil referral unit which can cater for the needs of 60 Key Stage 4 pupils. This project is a partnership between the charity RSP Rainer and the Behaviour Support Service (BSS), whose aim is to re-engage pupils with the learning process.

The service tries to maintain strong links with school in a variety of ways. These include:

  • supporting pupils experiencing difficulties
  • advising and supporting colleagues
  • the provision of INSET
  • attendance at in-school reviews
  • multi-agency involvement
  • advice and support to parents.
