General Election 8 June 2017

A general (Parliamentary) election will take place on Thursday 8 June. All registered electors will be eligible to vote except EU citizens. The formal Notice of Election that formally starts the election timetable was published on 8 May.

 

The deadline to stand as a candidate in the election has now passed.

Poll cards will start to be sent to eligible electors from Monday 8 May.

 

Please note that Postal vote packs will be sent to existing postal voters around 19 May to addresses outside the UK and on 26 May to addresses within the UK. Anyone who applies for a postal vote after 8 May will have their postal vote pack from 1 June. If you think you may not be around to return your postal vote pack before the close of poll at 10pm on 8 June, you may wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf instead. You will need to cancel your postal vote no later than 5pm on 23 May.
