The Medway, North and West Kent Macmillan Welfare Benefits Service is a free and confidential advice service.

Our trained benefits advisors offer advice to people living with cancer, their families and carers.

We work in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. 

Eligibility

This service is available to anyone with a current cancer diagnosis or their carer living in the following postcode areas:

  • BR6 and BR8
  • DA1 to DA13
  • ME1 to ME9
  • ME14 to ME20
  • TN1 to TN4
  • TN8 to TN18.

And if your local council is any of these:

  • Dartford Borough Council
  • Gravesham Borough Council
  • Maidstone Borough Council
  • Medway Council
  • Sevenoaks District Council
  • Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council
  • Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria above but are having cancer treatment through Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, our service is normally by phone, but we can offer face to face home visits if we think they're necessary.

Available services

We can:

  • offer benefit advice (including entitlement checks)
  • advocate and offer representation at tribunals
  • help you with filling out forms
  • apply for a Macmillan grant on your behalf
  • signpost you to other services.
