Overview
Transport is an important issue in Medway today. It affects the economic success of the area and the social fabric of the environment.
Following public consultation, we discovered key issues for improving transport included:
- tackling congestion
- improvements to public transport services
- journeys to school and work.
Transport has also been recognised as a key issue when we consult on other matters, such as rural and youth issues or the provision of services for elderly people.
We're required by government to produce a Local Transport Plan, devised at local level in partnership with the community.
Medway's Local Transport Plan has been adopted by the council from 1 April 2011. This will run from 2011 to 2026.
