Review your banding decision
There are only 800 social housing properties available to let each year. Kent Homechoice make sure that all people are assessed fairly by keeping to the bands and criteria in the allocations policy. This means that even if you think your housing situation is unacceptable, there are other people that are in more urgent need of a property.
When someone is in need of “emergency” or “urgent” housing it means that they are in a serious situation where their health or life is at risk if they don’t move immediately.
If you disagree with your banding decision you can ask for a review of the decision within 21 days of your application being assessed. Reviews received outside this time may not be considered.
To request a review you will need to:
- say why you disagree with the banding decision
- provide information that supports your case such as doctor’s notes
- give the names and contact numbers of any professionals such as social workers who can support your case.
