The Mayor is known as the First Citizen of Medway, and has ceremonial titles of Constable of the Castle and Admiral of the River. The Mayor chairs meetings of Full Council. A large part of their time is spent promoting the image and importance of Medway in a regional and national context, and promoting Medway Council objectives.
For May 2024 to May 2025 the Mayor of Medway is Councillor Marian Nestorov and his wife, Mrs Liubov Nestorov, will act as Mayoress.
Councillor Nestorov officially took up duties on 15 May 2024, when he was elected at the annual council meeting.
