Website accessibility
Accessibility and usability have been key elements in the formation of the Medway Council Civica Library platform. As such, the Medway Council, Libraires strives to achieve a web accessibility compliance level of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) [external site] Level AA.
How accessible this website is
we are committed to providing a platform and online information that are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of location, technology, or ability.
To demonstrate our commitment, Civica sought expert, independent accessibility testing by the Centre for Inclusive Design [external site] (CfID), who have assessed the platform against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, an international benchmark developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) of which CfID is a member.
Rigorous compliance testing was conducted in a single round and in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM) [external site].
