Terms and conditions
The following terms and conditions apply:
- submissions are accepted for both books from 1 September to 30 November 2022
- the books will be published and launched in March 2023
- entry is free and open to anyone aged 7 years and over
- you can send in a total of 3 submissions in any style of your choosing (for example, 3 essays, or 2 essays and 1 poem or 1 poem, 1 story and 1 essay)
- once submitted, submissions cannot be amended
- submissions will not be returned, so please keep a copy
- if your work is chosen to be included in one of the books, you'll receive a free copy
- work may be edited for clarity or length
- the copyright of submissions remains with the author. However, authors of the winning submissions, by submitting their work, grant Medway Libraries the right in perpetuity to publish and/or broadcast their work
- submissions will be judged anonymously by a judging panel
- the project organisers reserve the right to change the judging panel without notice and not to include the work if, in the judges’ opinion, such an action is justified
- the judges will read all the submissions and their decision is final. The judges or Medway Libraries will not enter into any correspondence
- people whose work will be included in the books will be notified by the end of February 2023 and invited to a launch event in March 2023
- all entrants who provide a valid email address will be notified about the outcome of their entry by the end of February 2023.
