Multi-Disciplinary Service
The Multi-Disciplinary Service provides intensive support and wraparound intervention for children and families receiving statutory support from other teams within children’s services. This service includes:
- Family Group Conferencing team
- Family Partnership
- Adolescent Multi-Disciplinary team
- Specialist Assessment team.
Fostering
The fostering team is responsible for recruitment, connected carers, foster carers, private fostering, and supported lodgings. The fostering service is divided into 3 teams:
- Recruitment and Assessment Team: Recruits and assesses new foster carers and supported lodgings carers, and supports private fostering arrangements
- Fostering Support Teams: 2 teams that support in-house carers to provide high standards of therapeutic care to children in care
- Connected Carer Team: Assesses potential kinship placements, connected carer assessments, and Special Guardianship Order assessments.
Adoption
Adoption services are managed by Adoption Partnership Southeast, a regional adoption agency in partnership with Kent County Council and the London Borough of Bexley. The service:
- recruits, assesses, and supports new prospective adopters
- finds families for children with an adoption plan, including those needing early permanence placements
- provides post-adoption support to adopters, birth families, and adult adoptees seeking access to their birth records.
Parklands
Parklands is a short breaks home for children and young people aged 5 to 18, referred by the Children and Young People with Disabilities Team.
It operates an after-school club during term time and is designed for children with disabilities, learning difficulties, and complex needs, offering a range of stimulating social and recreational opportunities.
Youth Service
The Youth Service engages with young people aged 8 to 19 (or up to 25 for those with disabilities), offering a variety of social, sports, creative, and fun activities.
They provide a safe and positive environment for young people to learn new skills and socialise. The Youth Service values young people’s participation and voice, planning activities with them and supporting their projects to address issues that concern them.
