SEND summer activities 2024

Ninja Warriors - Get Up and Go Ninjas! (SEN session)

  • Location: Dockside, Chatham
  • When: Saturday 3 August and then every first Saturday of the month
  • Cost: £9.95.

Those attending will have:

  • full park access and lower capacity sessions
  • slow rules, quieter music, and no loud announcements
  • free carer per activity user
  • maximum 2 siblings per activity user
  • maximum 4 activity users per carer
  • same 5+ age rules as regular sessions.

Everyone must respect the slow rules at all times.

For a free carer place, one of the following documents must be shown at reception:

  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA) letter
  • bank statement showing DLA allowance, PIP, EHCP
  • letter from a medical professional.

SOAR Trampoline Park

  • Location: Medway Distribution Centre, Gillingham
  • When: Every Thursday
  • Time: 4pm to 5pm (during term time) and 5pm to 6pm (during school holidays)
  • Cost: £12.50 (including carer). Additional jumpers are £12.50 each.

This quieter, relaxed session lets adults and children with additional needs explore trampolining with their carers.

With less than half of the capacity for regular sessions, reduced volumes to the music, and no large equipment running, it provides a stress-free environment for safe jumping.

Carers jump for free and are included in the booking. Siblings are also welcome to join these SEN sessions. Jumpers must be over 4 years of age.

Jumpin Fun Inflatable Park

  • Location: Medway Industrial Estate, Rochester
  • When: The last Sunday of each month, and every Tuesday throughout the summer holidays
  • Time: 9am to 10am
  • Cost: £6 (one parent/carer is free). Siblings and additional adults are £6 each.

Woodlands Warriors Wheelchair Rugby League

  • Location: Woodlands Road, ME7 2DU
  • When: Tuesday evenings
  • Time: 7pm to 9pm
  • Cost: £25 per month via standing order.

The Woodlands Warriors Wheelchair Rugby League:

  • offer free 4 trail sessions before monthly payments
  • run Wheelchair Rugby League sessions that are inclusive for all people from ages 10 to adult who are able to self propel and understand instruction
  • supply all equipment.

Club AUsome

  • Location: MonkeyBizz, Medway Industrial Estate, Rochester
  • When: Tuesday 13 August and Wednesday 11 September
  • Time: 6.15pm to 7.30pm
  • Cost: £8 per child.

There are also offers for youth clubs for under 12s and over 12s.

Under 12s

  • When: Every Monday (term time)
  • Time: 5pm to 6.30pm
  • Location: Strood Youth Centre, Montfort Road, Strood, ME2 3ET
  • Cost: £3 per child.

Over 12s (and up to 17)

  • When: Every Monday (term time)
  • Time: 7pm to 8.30pm
  • Cost: £3 per child.

Parkwood Youth Centre

  • Location: Parkwood Youth Centre/Parkwood, ME8 9PN (part of YouthGo Medway Council)
  • When: Wednesdays (Wednesday Squad)
  • Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm
  • Cost: Free.

This offer provides a space for young people aged 16 up to 25 years with additional needs to learn new skills and make new friends.

Woodlands Youth Centre

  • Location: Gillingham, ME7 2BX (part of YouthGo Medway Council)
  • When: Wednesdays (Shine youth session)
  • Time: 6pm to 8pm
  • Cost: Free.

For young people with disabilities or additional needs. Activities include:

  • sports
  • games
  • cooking
  • art
  • life skills
  • and much more.

For ages 10 to 18 years. Term time only.

Strood Sports Centre

  • Location: Strood Sports Centre - hydro pool/sensory swim
  • When: Every Thursday
  • Time: 4.30pm to 5.30pm
  • Cost: £4.65 per session (no charge for parents or carers).

Sensory swim for children aged 3 to 12 includes general splash around, water based games, and building water confidence.

Hydrotherapy sessions for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) children

  • When: Thursdays
  • Time: 6pm to 7pm
  • Cost: £3.65 per session (no charge for parents or carers).

The disability swim session is held in the hydrotherapy pool for all swimming abilities and levels of disability. A chair hoist is available to assist people in entering and exiting the pool when necessary.

For those over the age of 13. There are 10 spaces available for this session. You must book sessions in advance online or by phone: 01634 333 933 or 01634 333 948.
