Community activities

Medway residents making small changes is a great way to tackle climate change. There are also opportunities to work collectively on community projects.

Through collective action we can make significant progress towards the climate change agenda, as well as influence local and national policy.

Medway community groups and partnerships

Community groups are a great place to meet new people, have fun and help towards making Medway a greener place.

Inspire people to join one of the community organisations in Medway and show that we can make a difference.

There are many community groups across Medway that you can get involved in.

Volunteering for the walking bus

Walking bus

There are over 30 walking bus routes across Medway. There are more than 500 children already taking part and you can join in too.

It’s a simple and flexible programme that parents and carers can take part in to suit their personal circumstances, just like they would with a regular bus service.

Each walking bus route needs a walk driver and walk conductor.

We want to help get more of Medway’s children walking and are looking for friendly parents and adults to volunteer to join the scheme.

To find out more or to volunteer phone us on 01634 331 399 or email travel.safety@medway.gov.uk.
