Anime Magic is a musical and digital glow in the dark creation appearing on 6 bus stops across Gillingham High Street.
The pieces will highlight historical figures from Gillingham and Medway, designed by young people, and based on the Japanese art styles manga and anime.
Workshops
2A-LTY is also running free music and illustration workshops for young people. They will learn how to draw in the manga and anime styles and create their own characters based on the lives of local heroes.
The workshop will also teach young people how to create music inspired by some of the most popular anime movie soundtracks.
The jingles created in the workshops will then be used to produce 6 short animations. These will be shared on the 2A-LTY TikTok account and linked to QR codes that will display the artwork.
The workshops will be taking place at Gillingham Library on:
- Saturday 28 August 2021: 3pm to 5pm
- Saturday 4 September 2021: 2pm to 4pm
- Saturday 11 September 2021: 2pm to 4pm.
If you spot any of the Gillingham POW! pieces, take a photo and upload it to social media using the hashtag #GillinghamPOW.
