About the exhibition

Through paintings, constructed works, prints and artist’s books, Ian Bottle explores ideas about time, memory and place.

His methods are influenced by what he sees as the the challenges presented in processing the information we are continually confronted with.

Ian’s work is informed by drawings and photographs that explore patterns within our seeing, thinking and doing, simultaneously building up and breaking down an image or sculptural form until a coherent structure emerges.

The title of the show, OVER LAP refers to this process and the potential for disruption to reveal moments of insight.
