Our Financial Welfare Hub gives you all the information you need in one place.

What we can do

Our staff are trained money guiders who can offer free, impartial guidance.

Did you know that Medway Council provides:

  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Reduction and financial assistance
  • extra help with rent
  • welfare benefits advice and assistance
  • money guiding and signposting
  • referrals to regulated financial advisors
  • housing-related support
  • Macmillan Welfare Benefits advice and advocacy
  • emergency assistance with:
    • food
    • energy
    • household essentials.

We can:

  • connect you to the departments within the council that can help you 
  • make sure that you’re getting all the financial help you’re entitled to
  • provide impartial support
  • provide emergency financial support
  • help you to improve your financial welfare.

Most of our services are available online. However, if you’re unsure what direction to take, you can use our online form to contact the Benefits and Financial Welfare team.

The team will review your case and arrange the most appropriate support for you.

We plan to launch face-to-face drop in services in 2024.

What happens after

We’ll be in touch within 10 working days of you completing an application. 

If you need emergency financial assistance, please apply for a Household Support Fund grant.
