I hope you all got the results you wanted, and whatever you end up doing next, whether it is an apprenticeship, further education or entering the world of work, I want to wish you the very best for the future.
“If you didn’t get the results you wanted, I would encourage you to speak to your school in the first instance. We also offer support through our Information, Advice and Guidance team who can offer advice on your options.
“I would also like to say a big thank you to the school staff, as well as parents and carers, who have supported Medway’s young people achieve their personal goals.”
If you're not sure what to do after your exams, or are disappointed with your results, we recommend you speak to your school in the first instance. However, there's also lots of other advice and guidance available to support you.
Career guidance
Our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service offers advice and support to 16 and 17-year-olds in Medway. This support includes:
- career advice
- job search and application help
- CV and interview skills
- finding and applying for an apprenticeship
- applying for college or sixth form
- finding a training course.
IAG will be running drop-in sessions from 10am to 3pm at the Wrec Room in the Pentagon Shopping Centre, Chatham, on two dates:
- Thursday, 17 August for A-Level results day
- Thursday, 24 August for GCSE results day.
You can also contact the IAG team by Facebook message on both of these days for advice between 10am and 8pm.
The National Careers Service also provides guidance if you're not sure what to do next. You can call them on 0800 100 900 to speak to a careers adviser, or find out more on the National Careers Service website.

If you're unsure university is right for you, Medway Adult Education has a wide range of vocational courses on offer, including digital skills, creative courses and career specific qualifications.
Medway Adult Education also offers apprenticeships, which were recently rated as Outstanding by Ofsted.

We know that the exam and results period can be stressful. We'd like to remind young people that Kooth is available in Kent and Medway.
