Residents are being encouraged to get their blood pressure checked for free this month.
Around a third of adults in the UK have high blood pressure but many don’t even know it, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
There is still time for residents to get a free blood pressure check this month. You can turn up to any of the following locations between 10am and 4.30pm without an appointment to get your check:
- Hoo Sports Centre – Thursday, 21 September
- Lordswood Healthy Living Centre – Monday, 25 September
- Balmoral Healthy Living Centre – Wednesday, 27 September
Cllr Teresa Murray, Deputy Leader of Medway Council and Portfolio Holder for Public Health, said: “Getting your blood pressure checked is such an important thing to do, and I would encourage all of Medway’s residents to make the time to get it done. We know that a lot of adults across the country have high blood pressure and in many cases they are not even aware. Getting yourself checked lets you take control of your blood pressure and is a quick and easy step we can all take towards staying healthy.”
