We are sending our best wishes to everyone across Medway receiving their exam results over the next few weeks.

Best of luck

Cllr Tracy Coombs, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Education, said: “I want to wish everyone who will be picking up their exam results the very best of luck. Although it can be a bit nerve-wracking, it is also a really exciting time for Medway’s young people as they take the next step in their lives – whether it is continuing their education, starting an apprenticeship or entering the world of work.

“If you don’t get the results you want, please do look into all of the support on offer – I would encourage you to speak to your school in the first instance. We also offer support through our Information, Advice and Guidance team who can offer advice on your options.

“Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to all of the brilliant school staff and parents and carers who have supported Medway’s young people through this important time of their lives, helping them to achieve their goals and find their path in life.”

Advice and support

If you’re not sure what to do after your exams, or are disappointed with your results, we recommend you speak to your school in the first instance. However, there is lots of guidance and advice available to help support you.

Career guidance

Our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service offers advice and support to 16 and 17-year-olds in Medway. This support includes:

  • career advice
  • job search and application help
  • CV and interview skills
  • finding and applying for an apprenticeship
  • applying for college or sixth form
  • finding a training course.

IAG will be running a virtual drop-in on Microsoft Teams on Friday, 23 August from 10am to 8pm.

You can also book an appointment to speak to someone between Tuesday, 27 August to Friday, 30 August. Appointments will be available from 10am to 3pm on each day. To make an appointment, contact the IAG team by calling 01634 335599 or emailing IAG@Medway.gov.uk.

You can also contact the IAG team by Facebook message from 10am to 8pm between Tuesday, 27 August and Friday 30 August.

The team will also be holding a drop-in session on Thursday, 29 August from 10am – 3pm at: Elaine Centre, Elaine Avenue, Rochester, ME2 2YN.

The National Careers Service also provides guidance if you're not sure what to do next. You can call them on 0800 100 900 to speak to a careers adviser, or find out more on the National Careers Service website.

Medway Adult Education also offers apprenticeships, which were rated as Outstanding by Ofsted last year.

Apprenticeships

If you're interested in doing an apprenticeship you can find out more about how apprenticeships work and how to get started on the GOV.UK website.

You can also take a look at the apprenticeships offered through Medway Adult Education.
