Super Saturday will take place this weekend, bringing superheroes, movie cars, fun activities and a 30ft Stay Puft marshmallow man to Chatham town centre.

Presented by Child-Friendly Medway, the free event is a great chance to have fun and learn about all there is on offer for children in Medway, from seasonal and festive celebrations to sport and library events.

The High Street and Pentagon Centre will buzzing with fun from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, 31 August, with attractions including:

  • Movie cars: including Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, a 66 Batmobile, Tow Mater from ‘Cars’, Bumblebee from Transformers, and a Jurassic Park Jeep.
  • Mask-Making Workshops with the Pentagon Shopping Centre – this is a bookable craft activity. Book your free place on the Pentagon Shopping Centre Eventbrite page.
  • ‘Hunt for the Affinity Stones’ children’s trail.
  • Hero Trail Activity.
  • Meet the Avengers.
  • Photo Opportunity with Life-Size Spiderman Figure.
  • Meet Iron Man and see his Armoury collection.
  • Meet the Real Kent Ghostbusters.

Cllr Adam Price, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, said: “Super Saturday is always a great event, so we want as many people as possible to get down to Chatham to enjoy the fun and learn about what’s on offer for children in Medway.

“There’s so much going on there’s something for everyone to enjoy, and it’s a great chance to showcase the work done by Child-friendly Medway to promote opportunities for young people.”

The Super Saturday event is presented by Child-Friendly Medway, Medway Council, Love Chatham Forum, and The Pentagon Shopping Centre.
